Getting Started

What do I need to get started?
INscribe requires 3 basic assets for each eBook to be distributed: (1) completed EPUB content file; (2) jpeg cover image; and (3) a complete metadata form (INscribe template provided). If you do not have a completed EPUB file, as noted above we will work with our EPUB conversion partners to convert your PDF(s) and/or MS Word doc(s) to EPUB format.

To what retailers does INscribe distribute ebooks?
INscribe Digital works with a constantly growing list of retail partners. Currently INscribe can distribute your content to Apple’s iBookstore, Amazon Kindle, Amazon’s KDP, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, 3M, Google, Axis 360, Blio, Overdrive, BooksAMillion, Waterstone’s, WH Smith, All Romance EBooks, FNAC, Kalahari, Collins, Angus & Roberston.

Does INscribe distribute to Apple’s iBookstore?
Yes, INscribe is one of 4 preferred eBook aggregators distributing to the iBookstore.

What are INscribe Digital’s service fees?
INscribe utilizes a combination of flat fees per title distributed and a small revenue share per title sold. The fee structure varies depending on the number of titles in a Publisher’s catalog. For more information, please contact digitalpublishing@INscribeDigital.com

Do I need to have a minimum number of ebook titles to work with INscribe Digital?
We prefer to work with partners who have a minimum number of five (5) active titles to best leverage the benefits of our system and reporting tools. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis if publishers expect their content base to expand.

Client Console

If I’m already working with Amazon directly, can I still work with INscribe Digital to handle distribution of my titles to other retailers?
Yes. INscribe’s agreements are non-exclusive, and are designed to be flexible to meet the specific distribution needs of each Publisher/Author. All Publishers/Authors have absolute autonomy to opt-in and/or opt-out of any retail outlets they choose. We do recommend that our clients distribute as widely as possible to get the highest revenues, as well as to maximize the benefits of consolidated reporting via the Client Console.

Do I need an e-ISBN for my ebook(s)?
Yes. We require a unique ISBN for each book (separate from any physical book ISBN). If you do not have an ISBN for your eBook, INscribe can provide one to you for a modest fee.

Do I have access to sales data for my ebooks?
Yes, we offer all clients access to our Client Console, which provides visibility to current sales data and accounting statements from our retail partners, as soon as they are available (in some cases as often as daily or weekly).

Conversion

Does INscribe Digital offer EPUB conversion services?
Yes, INscribe works with a network of authorized EPUB conversion partners to offer preferred conversion rates for our distribution clients. By working with a range of providers, we can match your needs with the best provider of services at competitive rates.

Payment/Royalties

How often do I get paid?
INscribe accounts back to all clients on a monthly basis, based on sales revenue received from our retail partners during the previous month. Once minimum payment thresholds are met, royalty payments are remitted monthly.

Who sets the price(s) of my eBook(s)?
You (Publisher/Author) do.
