The announcement was made today by EVP & General Manager, Anne Kubek.
Richter was President and Publisher of the Simon & Schuster Children’s Division from 1996 – 2008, and he established the company as a consistently award-winning children’s and young adult publisher. During his tenure bestselling brands created under his direction included, among many others, OLIVIA (Nickelodeon, Spring ‘09) and THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES (Paramount, ‘08), HE’S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU (New Line, ‘08) and YES MAN (Warner Bros ’08). In 1990, Rick co-founded Candlewick Press, a prestigious children’s publisher based in Boston and launched the now children’s classic, GUESS HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU.
Rick founded Ruckus Media Group in September 2010. Ruckus is a new mobile media family entertainment company, backed by San Francisco based venture firm Alsop Louie, and recently named in J. Walter Thompson’s 100 Things to Watch in 2011.
