BEA 2012: Wrap Up

Every year publishers, authors and publishing service providers block out the first week in June as we all make our pilgrimage to the Javits Center in New York City for Book Expo America (BEA). There we discuss the ever-changing digital landscape, new publishing initiatives and get a sneak peak into what’s coming in the next year.

After dozens of meetings in a three day span at BEA, we have lots to share with you about the constantly shifting sands in the publishing world.  It is always great to have a chance to meet and discuss ways to grow our business collectively. We also want to thank our clients and partners who were able to join us for our annual Reception at the INscribe Digital booth. It’s always a fun way to reconnect and get to know each other better. This year was especially fun as we had INscribe Digital authors Lisa Bloom, Thomas Koulopoulos, Bob Podrasky, Rebecca Royce, Sheila MacKechnie Murtha,  Laurie Ann Callihan, and Arita Trahan on hand to talk about their recent releases. Thanks to REA, Laura Dail Literary Agency, Bibliomotion Inc and AudioGO for hosting your authors with us.

Thomas Koulopoulos, author of Cloud Surfing

For INscribe, BEA is a time where we can sit down with our existing clients and discuss the progress made over the past year and how we can build upon what we learned. Equally as important, we meet with our retail partners and discuss ways to streamline distribution and retail processes and utilize a range of marketing options to better drive sales on our titles for our clients.

This year our booth was conveniently located in the Digital Zone where we were situated in close proximity to some of our most trusted conversion partners NewGen, MetroDigi, Yudu and Suntec.  This proved to be beneficial for both sides as there were multiple occasions where we were able to refer clients to our preferred partners and them to us.
