BELLEVUE, WA, January 8, 2013 — Passed down from Jedi Masters to Padawan, The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force, previously available only in print, can now be downloaded to the iPad as an enhanced e-book (available 1/15/13). It has been re-imagined in brilliant, high-definition digital detail and packed with exclusive new content, from interactive galaxy maps and ship schematics to an animated lightsaber tutorial, complete with authentic sound effects.
The release of The Jedi Path as an enhanced e-book marks the first from becker&mayer! who has collaborated with Lucasfilm Ltd. on many celebrated Star Wars® titles, including most recently Book of Sith and Star Wars: The Blueprints.
“We are thrilled to bring The Jedi Path back to life in this new and interactive format,” said Carol Roeder, Director of Publishing for Lucasfilm, Ltd. “Fans of the original vault and printed book editions will be delighted to experience the Jedi journey anew, thanks to the addition of never-before-seen features and content, only available in the enhanced e-book edition.”
The manual, written by New York Times best-selling author Daniel Wallace, unlocks the secrets and shares the knowledge that has educated generations of Jedi, including the history and hierarchy of the Jedi Order, the uses of the Force, and the nuances of lightsaber combat.
The new version now enables a student of the Force to dig even deeper into Jedi lore—featuring a holocron animation sequence, interactive concept sketches that come to life as full-color illustrations, and clickable training remote icons peppered throughout the text—giving the reader a whole new, hands-on experience of The Jedi Path.
The enhanced e-book version, with deluxe interactive content and new text and art, is available for download exclusively onto iPad devices in the Apple iBooks store starting January 15 for $12.99 (eISBN: 9781603803076). A fixed format e-book version is also available for Kindle, Nook, and other platforms.
