Book title metadata is one of the most powerful customer-facing selling tools that publishers have. It is critical to making both ebooks and print books stand out on retail websites and in marketing emails to readers. When all metadata fields for a title are filled out correctly, there can be a whopping 55-percent lift in sales, according to a 2012 Nielsen study. Yet many publishers have not updated their editorial, marketing and sales workflows to insure that front- and backlist titles have properly updated keywords and BISAC codes, awards info, and/or links to all related releases.
At INscribe Digital, we know what it takes to make an eBook bestseller, based on our close relationships with the top retailers and with our clients, who include major publishers as well as hundreds of independent presses, authors and literary agents.
